Snow snow everywhere. We don't usually get all that much snow in winter here, but it's been three weeks straight with the stuff now. And it's still snowing. Quite unusual - but rather pretty. If only it would keep off the roads and railway tracks *L*

Well anyway I decided that the white rice in today's bento could double for snow, so I put mittens and a scarf on Froggie™ and sent him out to play ;)

Hello people!

I had a dream that we had a pool in the back yard.

The cool thing was that it was encircled by this incredible jungle-type set-up; there were trees and vines and awesome plants all over the place! It was so cool. I basically spent my dream swimming. At one point, I went into the house and saw my Uncle Mike in the kitchen, talking with mom. Now, first of all, Mike lives in Ohio, he would never come up here. And second of all, we're not too found of him.

I thought in my dream, "Is he ever gonna leave?" and I wanted to ask mom when he would go home, but I didn't say anything. I pulled a baggy shirt on over my swimsuit to go back to swim and then I woke up. Mom got me up at 9:00, even though I was sposed to get up at 7:00 to go to work with mom. Oops! Luckily, her 10:00 appointment cancelled and her next one wasn't until 3:00, so everything was okay, lol.

I got up and took a shower and got ready to go. Then I spent the next coupla hours saving pics of RDJ from the rdjdaily comm. Ahh, they're so wonderful. We finally left around noon. Mom and I had huge, in-depth conversations in the car all day. It was cool. We stopped at Ruby Tuesday for lunch, but were in a hurry cuz mom's next appointment was far away. That is, until the next appointment called to cancel.

Mom and I split the bill (I wanted to) after a pretty decent meal and then we drove around to a few vet offices. We listened to the Glee (Volume 1) soundtrack in the car; that was fun. Then we finally got home around 5:00. We watched some TV when we got inside and that's all we've been doing, really. Mom got me a subscription to Rolling Stone magazine, despite the fact that I have never even read that magazine.

And despite the fact that I asked for a subscription for TIME, like, a million times. I asked her why she got me Rolling Stone. Her answer? "It was $1 for a year subscription." Wow, yeah, that's a great reason. Get me something I won't read cuz it was cheaper than something I'm actually interested in. *headfloor* I mean, I'm grateful that she got me something, but it's not something I'm even remotely interested in.

I flipped through it for the Hell of it and was done in two minutes. What topped of my dislike for the magazine is the shit review they gave Sherlock Holmes. Fuck them and their lack of taste, thank you very much. Oh, and the best part is that mom read the review, agreed, read it aloud to dad, and he agreed. Then they proceeded to bash the movie, knowing that I am head-over-heels in love with it.

I dunno about you guys, but when someone bashes something I love, it's like they're bashing me. They're saying something I'm seriously invested in at the moment is sucky; it's like they're saying my taste is sucky. Few things infuriate me more. I got incredibly furious to the point that I bit down on my finger to keep from being bitchy to my parents. I just took my stuff and went upstairs. I couldn't handle it anymore.

So, that's where I am now. I'm gonna watch Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (which the title of this post is from) and try to chill out. And now here's a little something to prepare you for the RDJ pic/GIF-spam I'm about to hit you with; my absolute fave pic of Robert EVER. It's the hottest, sexiest thing I have ever seen. What can I say? Sexy guys toting guns and smoking a cigarette turn me on sooooo much. I have no idea why, lol.

on the left, more chicken nugget halves, chopped up fresh green beans, and shaped sweet rice w/furikake. on the right, a star-cut-out cheese, dried apricots, peanut butter-filled celery w/carrot stars and 3 raspberries. I don't like having so much of the bottom showing through, but didn't want to just line it w/lettuce for lettuce's sake...


my lunch today.

another "face" on the left, w/the same ingredients as above, and on the right, more carrot stars, cucumber halves, asparagus, a rather large "baby" tomato, 2 laughing cow swiss cheese, and some raspberries.

I feel like lunches end up being roughly the same all week, for the most part, as I use up ingredients... :\ at least they're all cute, right?

I got some bigger veggie cutters that I need to use, too. hm, mebbe tomorrow, if there's anything left to cut!

Due to the epic amount of fail during the People's Choice Awards (though the resulting mini party was pretty awesome) the amazing tinuelena (seriously, bow to her) came up with the idea for the Trek Choice Awards

My ultimate idea for this thing?

When we finally get all the categories down/nominations/voting complete...who ever wanted to be a presenter could film themselves doing a category intro/announce the nominees. I have a background in film editing and would compile these, plus add in all the obligatory picutures/videoclips of the nominees. (Anyone else who does videos & would like to help with this?)

...This could be a real awards show.

TOO INSANE????? The sheer amount of categories would make this long & probably a lot of work. Probably so worth it though?

Hello all you cheery bento-ers. I have a question for you.

I'm a college student who lives a 20-30 minute walk from campus. I get up early and am on campus all day without access to a fridge. I don't have the money to eat in the cafeteria every day and I'm really into making bento.

My question is, how can I keep food from going bad if it's with me all day? Also, what are your favorite bento items that don't need refrigeration?
